Niall Christie Registered Member MBACP (Accred) UKATA EATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
I offer a warm, non-judgemental and compassionate approach to working with your problems and I draw on my personal integrity, honesty and openness to provide you with a secure and supported space for personal change.
I am deeply committed to men’s emotional health and well-being and I have been developing my skills and experience in this field since I commenced my psychotherapy training in 1995.
I have a sound theoretical base to my work in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, which is particularly effective in understanding and addressing relationship dynamics between ourselves and others, and in exploring and transforming how we relate to ourselves.
Transactional Analysis theory not only helps us identify problem areas but also provides a clear framework for positive change.
My background
I worked as a Corporate Lawyer and Company Director in London and mainland Europe where I gained considerable experience of working with individuals, groups and organisations.
I subsequently trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy (starting in 1995) and I studied for four years at Wealden College, in Crowborough, in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, together with gestalt and person-centred counselling skills. I have a diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.
I have worked widely within the social care sector, including ten years working with adolescents and young people.
I have been a counsellor for an NHS funded substance misuse service in Brighton and I have a thorough training in working with substance misuse.
I have undertaken a detailed psychotherapeutic placement working within an NHS therapeutic community specialising in secondary care mental health issues.
I run a private counselling and psychotherapy practice in Lewes, East Sussex.
